Diagnostic and medical services Our hospital is equipped to provide comprehensive diagnostic and medical services to care for your pets complete health needs. Pediatric services include vaccinations, spay/neuter, and treatment of all puppy/ kitten illnesses. Adult care includes yearly examinations, treatment for acute injuries and health maintenance. Geriatric care is provided for chronic disease, osteoarthritis, endocrine disorders and cancer.
Surgical services Elective and soft tissue surgeries are performed in a fully equipped surgical suite.
Anesthesia We utilize gas anesthetic for surgical procedures while considering the risk factors and age of each patient in determining the safest possible protocol. Vital signs are monitored during all anesthetic procedures by a trained veterinary assistant with ECG, pulse oximetry and non-invasive blood pressure monitors.
Radiology services A fully equipped modern digital X-ray system provides high quality radiographs to aid in the diagnosis of may disorders.
Canine rehabilitation Recovery from post surgical, neurological and orthopedic injuries can be greatly enhanced by rehabilitation methods that have been used for years in human medicine. Older patients with chronic pain and decreased function due to osteoarthritis also benefit from physical therapy. Rehabilitation services offered at Healing Paws include: therapeutic exercises, ground treadmill, therapeutic ultrasound, low level laser, and neuromuscular electrical stimulation.
Acupuncture The insertion of very fine needles at specific points on the body creates a cascade of reactions within the body to treat pain and other medical conditions.
Pain Management Chronic and acute pain can be managed by medications, protocols and procedures that allow our loved pets the highest quality of life.
Diagnostic ultrasound This is a non invasive method to visualize the internal organs from a 3-D perspective. This allows us to obtain information about organ architecture and pathology. Detection of tumors, abnormal structures and pregnancy detection are some of the uses of diagnostic ultrasound.
Laboratory Our in-house lab equipment provides immediate results for serum chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis and parasite testing. Other diagnostic tests are sent to commercial laboratories if needed.
Pharmacy We maintain a well stocked inventory of pharmaceuticals, supplements, heartworm preventatives, flea and tick preventatives and other medical products.
Dentistry Services include high resolution digital dental radiography, dental prophylaxis, treatment for gingivitis and periodontal disease, extractions and oral surgery.
Dietary counseling Many medical conditions are directly related to proper nutrition. We will provide recommendations and guidance regarding the dietary needs specific to your pets needs.
Emergency care Emergencies will always be priority during normal office hours. After hours emergencies will be referred to the Emergency Clinic of Southwest Missouri.
